Returning, reviewing, revitalizing all of the once-fruitful ways of playing and expressing.

This piece has come out of returning to freedom. Exploring with layers of paint, time, action, and inviting grace to happen within the paint is what this piece reawakened in me.

The struggle to succeed by popular standards, by ways taught en masse to drill us into functions and machinations of our systems - this is what I see has choked the stream, and kept us from seeing deeply.

Return to the free expressive childlike innocence, the conscious mode of playfulness. In that playfulness, the residue of subject, object, dreams, ambitions, lived experiences, and real time emotions are eek’d out naturally like fine sap.

In this case, the left brain best vouch for itself, and find its own agenda (decommissioned by the right brain) in jockeying for moments of object-thought in the glimpses of falling out of play, returning to the adult mind.

Or is it not a fight? Instead, is it that free expression is a catharsis for thought, and gives the mind an opportunity to “offload” in a way by unveiling forms in a more lawless environment?
