"Glyphcurrent" 24 x 30 Acrylic on Canvas
“Glyphcurrent” comes from an exploration of the deliberate hand put in flow. In pure flow the hand is essentially decoding or downloading patterns from beyond base thought, and at best achieves the grace of intuition.
Where ideas come from, what the building blocks of thought are, and what/who has the original claim of meaning over anything are the questions this piece raises.
The lines were done with several brushes, and the background is a cold shimmering silver that flints about with different angles of light making a simultaneously overwhelming yet starving tapestry of raw forms.
The scene exists on a level where truth is inscribed in messages by lineages of symbols, alphabets secret and known, encryptions of thought and emotion, equations of understanding, knowledge, memories, and information all occurring, stored, sent, and received somehow directly to (and especially for) the witness in the center. He is reconfigured, and redefined by the substance of where he has entered. Viscerally flooded with the unending stream of content, his face reflects an awestricken state of intense vision and knowing. There is no real estate left in his awareness for deciphering pleasure and pain - only a flood brought by a current to which he is attuned, whereafter nothing can ever be the same.
